James was born and raised in Olympia. He has been active in the local food scene for over 15 years, designing, managing, and creating enticing menus for several local restaurants and resort destinations around the Pacific Northwest. Being raised on a farm for much of his early life, he understands the hard work and dedication it takes to produce beautiful food. James views the Pacific Northwest as a focal point in amazing edibles and is dedicated to providing local, sustainable, farm-fresh ingredients in the delicious meals served at The Marie. He has spent countless hours designing the Marie to be an appealing and intriguing escape from every day life, hoping to leave fond memories in the hearts of our guests for many years to come. James enjoys spending time with his son and dog, reading, collecting rocks and crystals, listening to classical music and old-time radio shows, as well as visiting museums and farmers markets.
